The Boston Private Industry Council (PIC) and MassHire Boston Workforce Board is excited to announce that Michael O’Neill—a Boston business, civic, and education leader—has stepped into the role of Executive Director as of January 2026. O’Neill succeeds Neil Sullivan, a longtime leader in workforce development and youth employment, who served as executive director of the PIC for more than three decades.

As part of the statewide MassHire network, the MassHire Boston Workforce Board oversees workforce development in the region and charters two career centers, MassHire Downtown Boston and MassHire Boston ABCD.
